During the month of June, ALEH had an important participation in the local activities of our member countries and in the Global Hepatitis Summit in Canada.
Congreso Asociación Mexicana de Hepatologia: Every year, ALEH participates actively in the Mexican Congress, held on this year from June 13 to 16 in Cancun. Representing ALEH participated Dr. Fernando Contreras, President of ALEH, Dr. Rodrigo Zapata, Permanent Adviser of ALEH and Dr. Juan Carlos Restrepo, ALEH Member and Ex President of the Colombian Hepatology Association, all with an outstanding participation in the scientific program.
In this opportunity, Dr. Graciela Castro took over as the new President of the Mexican Association of Hepatology, to whom we give the most cordial welcome as Representative of ALEH in her country and wish the greatest success in this great challenge. We also appreciate the important management of Dr. René Malé during his period as President, and we hope to continue counting on his active participation with ALEH.
Global Hepatitis Summit in Canada: ALEH participated for the first time in this activity, represented by Dr. Martín Tagle from Peru, who gave a lecture on “The Challenge of Viral hepatitis in the Andes Region” within the Pan-American Symposium. This was a great experience for ALEH, to be able to share with the Pan American Associations and discuss issues of interest in our region.
Congreso Ecuatoriano de Gastroenterlogía: ALEH participated in the Congress of the Ecuadorian Society of Gastroenterology, with the participation of Dr. Enrique Adames from Panama, who participated in the Liver and Biliary Tract module. We thank Dr. Luis Salas, organizer of the Congress for this invitation and we thank him for his participation as an ALEH Representative in his country during his term as president of the Society. We also welcome Dr. Fernando Benítez, who took over as President of the Society during the Congress. We wish him every success and we hope to continue collaborating with Ecuador.
