El congreso fue presidido por la presidenta de la Asociaci\u00f3n, Dra. Mar\u00eda Teresa Rizo. Cont\u00f3 con aproximadamente 400 asistentes, 80 trabajos libres y numerosos invitados extranjeros: Dr. Ra\u00fal Andrade (Espa\u00f1a), Dr. Ram\u00f3n Bataller (USA), Dr. Javier Brahm (Chile), Dra. Guadalupe Garc\u00eda Tsao (USA), Dr. Eric Lawitz (USA), Dr. Mauricio Lisker (USA), Dra. Ana Lok (USA), Dr. Jens U. Marquardt (Alemania), Dr. Tamir Miloh (USA), Dr. Aldo Monta\u00f1o (Canad\u00e1), Dr. Vlad Ratziu (Francia), Dra. Norah Terrault (USA), Dr. Hugo Vargas (USA). Se revisaron en detalle las novedades terap\u00e9uticas en hepatitis B y C, actualidades en diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento de h\u00edgado graso alcoh\u00f3lico y no alcoh\u00f3lico, avances en enfermedades autoinmunes, hipertensi\u00f3n portal, fibrosis hep\u00e1tica, trasplante hep\u00e1tico, hepatotoxicidad.<br \/>\nDurante este evento fueron premiados con el Homenaje a la Profesora e Investigadora 2016, la Dra.
