Cirrhosis

Who we are

The interest Group in Cirrhosis and Advanced liver Diseases was founded in 2020 with the launch of the on-line course "Cirrhosis and its complications", in order to create an academic space that allows interaction, sharing experiences and generates links between specialists in the region. In this way, generate a working network between the member of the interest group and ALEH partners with the goal of promoting research, knowing the data of our region and generating clinical practice guidelines oriented to our reality, to generate together an impact on the health of the patients with cirrhosis in Latin America.

Goals

  • To create a space that allows interaction, sharing experiences and establishing links between hepatologists interested in cirrhosis in the Region.
  • To generate data from our region to better understand the epidemiology of liver disease in Latin America, encouraging basic research.
  • To generate publications in high-impact journals.
  • To develop clinical practice guidelines of cirrhosis and its complications focused on the situation of our region.
  • To encourage collaborative work with other international scientific societies (EASL, AASLD).
